Default Bold browser vs Opera (9.5)

I heard the Bolds propietary browser has undergone a facelift. Do you think it will be as good as opera? And if not Bold should be able to run opera 9.5 right?

Well, I installed OS 4.5, and the browser having gotten a facelift is an understatement. It's basically a brand new browser, with FULL HTML, etc. It's FAST, too. I liked Opera better than the old browser, but not better than the OS 4.5 browser!

Opera Mobile is not BB compatible. Opera Mini is the best you're going to get at this point.

Don't forget that opera 9.5 is for the desktop and not for the smartphone world. I don't mind opera mini but i just cant stand using opera 9.5 even for the sync feature, not gonna happen.

I use opera mini for a couple of sites because it handles forms and frames better. Anyone know if the new browser will be better at those tasks?

There is something called Opera Mobile for Symbian and Windows Mobile phones. The current release is 8.65, but the upcoming version is also numbered 9.5.

I'm running the Vodaphone 4.5 release on my AT&T 8310 Curve and like the BB Browser MUCH more than Opera Mini... in fact I deleted Opera after trying it a few times... thought it was awful compared to the 4.5 browser.

@kirkk...I couldn't agree more. It feels like a brand new browser. Now put 3G on top of that baby, and I'm a happy camper!

Tried Opera for a day on my Bold but just didn't like it. Seemed like I had to go through alot of steps to get to websites, zoom in on pages, get to bookmarks and RSS feeds.

Ended up un-installing it and actually like the BB browser better.

Nice. How would you, without embellishment please , rate the BB OS 4.5 browser, vs. the BB OS 4.6 browser??

    Thanks...

    Traitor! :P lol just playin

I just got a Bold last week. I haven't gotten a chance to try out the Opera browser but I'll probably test that out this week. I enjoyed the Opera browser on my old phone, but compared to the BB browser.. well we'll have to see . I'll report back when i've gotten to play around and compare the two browsers.
