Default Bold 9000 resurection possible?

Hey guys, I got a free bold 9000 from my friend. The phone is in pretty rough shape but I want this phone to be a project. I really want to breath new life into this phone. So when I got it, the battery was inflated so bad the back cover couldn't even stay on. I replaced the battery but now I'm stuck at the blinking red light. I am wondering if it just needs software but idk. Any of you guys know how to get passed the blinking red light? I have a feeling the phone did have light water damage

Replace the housing: OEM White Blackberry 9000 Bold Housing Cover+ trackball | eBay

and perhaps replace the LCD screen as well: US NEW OEM LCD Screen Blackberry 9000 Bold 002/004 | eBay

and definitely reload the OS if it will take it.

Good luck!

Well guys, I hooked it up to dm with a new bb battery and it works except it needs a screen cause it has no backlight
Any suggestions where I can get a cheap screen for it?

I believe the backlight is part of the LCD screen so replacing it should do the trick

@ UPDATE @

Took phone apart and there is no motherboard damage. Acreen terminals look okay so probably just the screen needs to be replaced. I also put in a new scratchfree keyboard and fixed the trackball.also I replaced the clip that holds the back cover on. All that's left is the screen then were back in business . Also replaced th battery.

Update, replaced the screen and phone works okay. Only problem is volume up button doesn't work which is frustrating
