Default Bold 9000 not turning on!!

My blackberry was almost drained so I put it on charge (like a normal person would) for the whole night and when I woke up it wouldnt turn on. Whenever I connect it to charger it gives me a red light and then gives me a battery icon with a red cross on it (meaning the battery is dead obviously). I changed the battery but it does the same thing. It says battery dead on a brand new battery. It does not show the white screen with the timer or anything as such. All it shows is a battery with a cross. I tried to reload the OS but it doesn't work.. It says it can't connect to JVM.. (whatever that is).. Its not been water damaged or anything.. I don't know anything about this stuff... I googled it but no-one has had such a problem.. I was wondering if any of you geniuses could help me out..

Peace!

the battery icon with the x through it most likely means the battery is shot. its a commonly talked about issue. google or search here for it. i would try using another battery and see if it fixes it. if not, its likely a hardware issue and its bricked.
