Default Bold 9000 crashing every 5 min, restarts randomly....????

    Hi all,

Former 9700 user here, just recently picked up a used Bold 9000 on eBay after my 9700's screen cracked.

So here's the issue with my 9000: it resets and reboots randomly, at any given time. Sometimes I'll take the phone out of my pocket to find that it's shut off. Also anytime I hit the volume keys, or left convenience key, the phone crashes and restarts....lastly basically any function causes the phone to lag, and bring up the hourglass waiting sign. So the phone is basically useless right now.

Running v.4.6 something, can't even read it 'cause the damn thing won't even stay on.....

Think an OS update will fix all this? Or does this sound like a hardware failure?

Could be corrupted files or something like that. I'd try a wipe and new OS but do not restore anything other than what you need. Contacts etc. Do not restore any settings etc.

Yeah I agree with above and if you do put more stuff back on, do it one app at a time.

This is often caused by a third party app conflict

    1) DELETE all third party apps (If you can not, then use CRACKUTIL AND REMOVE THE FACEBOOK APP)
    2) DO a DM data backup
    3) Run BBSAK (do a search, you can download from this site)
    4) WIPE the phone
    5) Install the OS
    6) Use DM to restore data
    7) TEST the phone for a few days
If all is well ADD back any apps one at a time .. ONLY ONE AT AT A TIME
    8) TEST the phone for a few days ... add another app ...

    Default back cover probs

    ok 1st try this

when ur bb is working, try tapping on the black cover at different positions

if it crashes then its a backcover issue, try keeping a paper or sumthin over the battery to keep it secure

there is an easy solution to this. I am also a user of bb bold9000 and the solution is to tighten up the screws on the other side of your bold. at least it worked for me.

    Hello,
I had the same problem today and when i opened backcover i saw that battery was kinda like loose andnot fitting in the square,so i stuck a small paper on top right, now battery was pushed into the golden bars, and i put paper on top of battery which made it pushing inside the square and then turned it on its was working ,i had white screen problem it also fixed that,it will work if your BB had some physical problem.
~sorry for bad english, worked for me hope that works for you
