Default Bold 9000-Can Wireless Work Without ATT On?

I have not yet connected the Bold 9000 to ATT yet. Wondering if I can use the wifi without being connected yet?
I tried to connect and see router, but it asks to put pin in router. I never did that and do not know how to.
Doesn't it ask for the password for secured network?
    Assistance appreciated, thanks.

Did you select "Push Button Setup"? Or did it say the router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup"? If so, it needs a pin. You want to back out as Step12 says. If that doesn't work, go all the way back and select "Manually Add Network".

If you don't have an account with AT&T or some other carrier, some of your BIS functions *may* not work (BBM, Browser, App World. etc.)
