Bold 9000 about to be thrown through window!!

Hi, I am sorry if you have been asked this question a lot before, but I have scoured the internet and every Blackberry Forum I could find trying to solve my problem, but unfortunately I have yet been able to find a solution.

I bought a Bold 9000 off ebay last week for my nephew, description was that the phone had been working perfectly, then for no reason there was a white screen. They had taken it to a mobile repair shop and been told it needed a new screen. rather than repairing they decided to sell it and buy a new phone.

The seller seemed nice and I think they were being honest.

So, I get the phone, and after 3 hours of trying to find the part No of the LCD, I order a new screen. When it came I installed it and restarted the phone ...... white screen.

I have taken it back apart to check the connections - All OK

I have re-installed the software - All OK

I have left it on charge for 12 hours

I have pressed the top of the screen just under the Blackberry logo as it is starting

Nothing seems to work, I just keep getting this white screen. The phone is working, It boots up and I can hear the commands etc going on, I just can't see anything!!!


Please help me before my hair turns as white as the screen!!!!

Maybe the screen you replaced it with was incorrect. It may indeed be for the bold 9000 but there are different screen for various bold 9000 .. It should start with something like 002/011. You have to find one that matches the one required for your bold

I found the serial number on the screen that was already in the Bold and bought a scren with the same serial number. I have been told that maybe the ribbon is the problem, but its a new screen so its a new ribbon, unless they mean where it connects into the phone, but then surely there would be no power at all to the screen?

did you check the motherboard for any damaged or blown parts? or for sign of moist or water damaged. a good way to find is by borrowing a working LCD from a working phone and trying it. also, try checking the pins of the board connectors.

Likely it was wet
If so forget to repair

Take it back the to mobile repair shop... it can be something on the device itself.
and ask for your money back because it shouldn't need a new screen - they could test it with other screen or test your screen with other bold.
