I just removed the VVM from my .282 installation since it doesn't work anyway and I'll definitely be removing it from this new one also, I don't see the point in it. I also don't see the point in forcing it on us without the option of disabling or removing it (or all of the other worthless AT&T bloat garbage also for that matter).

If this is real and actually happens, it will be great.

    From TFA.

"AT&T has approved the BlackBerry Bold Maintenance Release (v4.6.0.508). This release, which provides several enhancements, will become publically available on August 25, 2009 including via OTA.

    What's New / What's Changed / What's Launched
A number of enhancements are contained in the Maintenance Release including:
    AT&T Visual Voicemail (optional feature)

General handset software optimization and improvements

Capability to set the device to "2G only" for better battery life and coverage in some international roaming situations

Additional VPLs including My-Cast Weather, Wiki Mobile, Mobile Banking, a few games and more.

The Maintenance Release will be available to customers to download from August 25, 2009 and will be available from www.att.com/bbdownloads."

.508 seems quite a jump from .282, seeing as we've been slowly building up from .167 over the last nine months. No interim versions, and no beta versions were leaked? And 4.6? What happened to 5.0?

maybe ist me. but i can't seem to find the .508 anywhere on AT&T. All i see in the software package version of .438. Can anyone else confirm?

    Hey, CX...

So, is this OS an improvement over the .282 I'm running now? I mean, should we wait or load now?

Oh crap...my bad. Didn't read it wasn't out until the 25th. Oh well...it'll be my little birthday present to me!

So, does this mean that AT&T will officially be provisioning Visual Voicemal for the BlackBerry with the release of this OS?

Did it say that you can set your phone to only connect to 2G? Can you do this now with the current at&t software?
Not with the AT&T OS you can't NO, but other OSs do offer that option.

probably will provision VVM at a monthly fee would be my guess - they don't do nothin' for free.

I would guess yes, since it actually appeared as an option on their site a few months back, and they already provide the service to the iPhone.
