bluetooth earpiece questions
I don't have a bluetooth earpiece yet, but I am considering buying one to go with my bold.
Does the BT earpiece only work on phone calls, or would it also work if I was (for example) listening to music?
What brands/models do you recommend?
Thanks! - 04-05-2009, 11:01 PM #2
i believe they do as long as the phone supports an AD2P profile, which the Bold does. but i would check with the headset too to make sure it supports it. most people buy stereo bluetooth headsets to listen to music. i think i recall being able to play music over my old Motorola HS850 headset through an older Nokia phone i was using at the time. but its only gonna be in the one ear.

I have a Jawbone II with a custom earpiece from averysound.com and its awesome! Seriously, I could roll my car and that Jawbone isn't going to budge! I don't even have to use the ear loop. The sound quality of course, with Jawbone's Noise Assassin technology, is outstanding.

the only stereo bluetooth headset that i know of is the motorola S9HD (available at Best Buy) it supports listening to music through bluetooth connection, and also doubles as a headset w/ built in mic. personally i've used a jawbone II, the plantronics 925, and the blueant v1, all of which are superb bluetooth headsets (non stereo bluetooth though) but i do like the blueant v1 the most. it's noise canceling technology is just as good as the jawbone, and i have found it to be a much louder headset over all. the plantronics is comfy as ****, but the v1 takes the cake because of its voice activated functionality.
overall i'd recommend the blueant v1, amazing quality, and complete package (packaging comes with usb charger, ac adapter, car charger, extra hook, extra buds, and memory foam buds) - 04-05-2009, 11:37 PM #6
Yeah just make sure it supports a2dp. I use my jabra and its awesome. Can listen to the radio while surfing the web or texting. Freakin sweet. This earpiece is older, came with my curve. When I bought the bold, they threw in a moterola blue tooth. Supposedly 'top of the line'. Got home and turned it on and couldn't listen to my music through it. Promtly sold it, and kept my jabra. Nice...
