| | Blackberry ID: what's going on?
I have used by Bold for a long time now, so I'd like to think I understand a bit about it.
What is starting to infuriate me is the fact that I seem totally unable to enter the 'My World' part of the Blackberry App World.
I have 2 email accounts on my Bold and I know the passwords to both. However, when I access this part of it I'm asked to login (it never used to be like this; only since the B.A.W was upgraded. The details for these logins get me into the B.I.S on the web, so they are correct.
I have tried both emails with both passwords, yet I keep getting told that either the email or password is incorrect - error id 30601.
I assume it is my BIS details that I need to enter? It's asking for a Blackberry ID.
I've requested a password reminder and it tells me that my email account isn't the one listed, even if I enter them both.
Last time I tried to get into 'My World' I had the exact same problem, so I decided to uninstall it.
Can anyone shed any light on this, please? I'm losing the will to live.

I'm having the exact same problem, as are some other people on the forums. Mine just started when I updated my OS. I'd love a fix for this other than making a new profile. That defeats the purpose...

If it is the same issue that im seeing in my neck of the woods, When it is asking for your info, it wants you to enter a NEW user name and password. This is something that i have seen about 10 times in the last week. The appworld had an upgrade and to install it on the device asks for a username and password... This is NOT the XXXXXX.blackberry.com username so more than likely we all have to go to "create a new username" link. Select a preferred email account (which can be the XXXXXXX.blackberry.com or any other) Type it in with a username to choose, a password, secret question & answer, and voilá ( after accepting the new terms screens...)
hope this helps

Glad it isn't just me!!
I am reading this, from Blackberry's site.
I wonder if the ID isn't another, additional ID I have to set up, instead of an existing login.
If it is, I wish they'd make it clear. |

The Blackberry ID is new with AppWorld 2.0. You should be able to create an ID at that login screen. Because the new AppWorld has new pay options like bill to carrier, they want to protect you if you lose your phone, etc.

So I am gonna have to create a whole new account and lose my already downloaded apps? I'm not gonna be happy if that's the case.

I've made an account and bought apps through carrier billing. I'm not an *****.

So I shouldn't be trying to access it with my existing email and password, like it suggests?
I need a whole new login ID?
Thanks for the help, by the way. |

I really wish the folks at RIM would make it clear that the already existing login details you have aren't the ones needed.
What made me think it's the BIS login was because the email part of the screen autopopulated with one of my email addresses.
Clear as mud, hey! |

I just fixed mine by logging into my account on the computer, changing my password, then logging in on my Blackberry. Good luck.

I'm too busy to be messing about with 627,944,152 accounts to remember.
Good luck. |

| | Today it worked.
Yesterday, I was getting invalid password messages while attempting to upgrade one of my apps. I know it was correct password, so the problem was on their end.

Appreciate that, Reed.
This is the second time I've tried to get on it, and only managed it this time by creating another profile.
The first time lead to me un-installing it.

I probably spent 2 hrs trying to figure out the same thing! Finally I figured I would set up a BB ID - I thought I was making a 2nd one - when it turns out it needed to be set up in the first place! RIM needs to communicate this info a little better
