What's the big deal about going to ATT? If its a legit phone it should be no problem

Was the device already wiped when you got it or you used it then it wiped because you didn't know the password?
We must overcome the notion that we must be regular... it robs you of the chance to be extraordinary and leads you to the mediocre.

You should send the phone to me immediately. I am sure it will all turn out okay......
And just for the record, why can't you go to an AT&T store?"There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and those who have met them in battle. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion." Unknown Army General - 05-15-2009, 12:37 AM #10
Yeah dude... This story is a little too wild. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the password would still be on the thing even after you recover it.

Wait....
Doesn't the phone disable the password after the 10 failed attempts and wipe??
It sounds like the OP is trying to access a still locked phone. I don't like to jump to conclusions so quickly, but this thread is a load of BS.

Exactly I wondered myself forever as others said it sounded a little fishy...

Yeah because once a phone has the 10 failed attempts, it essentially is now unlocked anyway. So there's nothing else to do. The phone is now unlocked.

my guess is that it was stolen and the OP doesn't know how to use DM or have any idea of the phone at all lol

OP... Where are you?
His silence confirms yet another case of "help me I stole a Bold and now I need your help to unlock it"

I don't blame him about not wanting to go to att. I will never step foot in my local att store ever again. They're all idiots.

Listen, if the phone is stolen there is a 99% chance the PIN is black listed, which basically means you're screwed. If your buddy is not going to give you your money back, just chalk up a loss here and move on. You should have asked some questions when someone is offering you a $500 phone for $200... Kind of a "red flag"

ive had the phone for 11 days now, upgraded os to .247, unbranded using a different vsm, and, worst of all, i have broken the warranty seal because i blacked the bold out... - 05-15-2009, 10:09 AM

Dude it doesn't matter... The PIN is hard coded to the device. Let's say you do get it activated before the PIN is black listed, if the rightful owner ever goes to their carrier, today, tomorrow, next month, doesn't matter... Done.

There's something they have at all police stations that unlocks all phones...all you have to do is go there and say you "found" it and they'll put some magic bracelets on your wrists and then the phone will work.
Trust me, this is your best option
