Default Are Blackberry Bold Unlock Codes Unique?

I am travelling to China in a week for study abroad and received an unlock code from AT&T with no problems. However, I was surprised that they did not request my IMEI code and simply gave me the code, which worked perfectly. Are Blackberry Bold codes unique and they simply had my IMEI code stored in their database, or are all unlock codes the same?

They are unique to the device. The rep should have confirmed that was the device you were using thought. Instead they assumed you had the correct device provisioned.

Glad it was. Enjoy your trip.

Believe it or not, your carrier knows what your IMEI is......

They record it with every device sale.
