Default Blackberry Bold STrange Display Issue

    Hi there!!!

I've recently purchased a Blackberry Bold. After I installed the DM OS 4.6, transferred my contacts and inserted my sim card, there is a "BETA" watermark running across the entire front screen . Can someone please help me???

I've tried changing themes...wall paper... I even wipe the handset clean hoping to start from scratch. But the watermark doesn't budge!!!

    Thanks in advance!!!

Its not officially released here in India yet... so its from an unofficial source... not that anyone in India purchases phones from the official sources

Seems like you've bought a beta version which most likely has a blocked pin and will not be able to use any BB data services (email, PIN messaging, BB messenger) ...

Does this mean that even after the phone is officially released in India there is no solution??

Or is there a way I can have the pin unblocked or the phone unlocked or something?

Pretty much yes I think it does but I could be wrong, you may have to contact RIM directly to get it unblocked.

From what i've read, I dont think they can be unblocked, these pre release units are NOT FOR SALE, and they get blocked by RIM to avoid them being sold ...

I read somewhere that all pre release bolds have the same pin prefix (i.e.: 1st 3 digits of the pin are always the same on pre release)...

Chetna, what are the 1st 3 letters of your PIN?

    Hey Laurent08,

Sorry for disappearing like this. The pin is 206DF715.

Please let me know if you know of any solution else I might as well return the piece and wait for the official release

Yeah, 206 pin almost always indicates a RIM employee device/engineering sample. When you boot up the device, it will say Not for Sale or lease.
