Could somebody tell me why does my phone stay warm all the time, and the battery is constantly running down, please help

You might have a bad battery.
Since you have a new phone bring it back to ATT for replacement ... do not try to do a repair on your own since it may void the RIM one year warranty

If you're running a beta OS, you could possibly have software issues that could cause warmth, but in general, mandony is correct.

I had a curve that had the same symptoms.
I installed a new battery & it was like brand new.

I've heard that battery life for BBs is generally about a year, depending on your use.

Yes it does sound like a battery issue, if new phone like 30-90 days bring back to where you purchased or if within 1 year warranty send it back to RIM.

What applications are you running? I have had this a few times and tracked it down to Spotberry 1.0. For me, the phone went back to normal after a battery pull until SB1.0 ran amuck again. I have not had this issue with 2.0 but have noticed it takes a very long time to release the GPS and exit.
