Battery Pull Load up time?
Since comparing the time it takes for one of my friend's Bold to load up from a battery pull to mine, I have wondered what was a normal time.
I just timed mine and it took 3m 30s. Is that normal? - 11-29-2008, 10:02 AM #2
Mine generally takes a while after a reset. I don't pull the battery, but the result is the same with a soft reset.

My 8310 was fast. My Bold. Not so much. I can make lunch and a tea and hope it's finished when I come back.

You inspired me to time my Bold battery pull. I have .185 and started the timer as soon as I reinserted the battery. The red led comes on for about 15 seconds then it takes a little more for the hour glass to come up on the white screen. Total time for the restart is 1 min 21 sec. I stopped the timer as soon as my wallpaper came up and I was able to move my icon selection around. If you want to get real nit picky, it does take a few more seconds to move the icons without lag because the phone is going through all the network recognition and what not. On a side note, I boot up with 52.6 mb file free memory and it gradually goes down to the mid 40's. With .167 I never had more than 43mb on boot up and it got as low as 26mbs!!!. I do a battery pull every morning.

I do think operating systems and the amount of apps loaded do make a difference in load times.
I had the opportunity to check to compare the load times between a Bold running .185 and .190 with both having roughly the same memory available and .190 took significantly longer to boot to the home screen then .185.
