    Unhappy Not as Bad

I just picked up my Bold from AT&T yesterday. I am having the same problem, only my phone will stay charged for about 3 hours. Not to mention the battery will not fully charge and it gets really hot. Is this common or should I take it back to the store?

Is the phone still under its 30 days? If so see if you can get one through the server. That's dying too quick for a new phone.

Not common . There's a thread about the batt heating issue on here. Call the service provider.

    Yea sounds defective to me-

It should definitely hold a charge longer than that! The Bolds battery life is quite good.

It should be a bit quicker to drain at first until the battery is broken in, but 2-3 hrs?!?!

No way. Sounds like a defect to me.

That is definitely a defect battery. If you got from at&t, see if they can replace or head down there.

Mine lasts all day without any problems

doubt that's it though. why have the gmail app when messenger pushes your email?

I have aim running in the background all day and battery lasts all day/night

how long you have the device for?

Mine did that early on, getting hot and using battery fast. What release of the OS are you on? I started out at about .148 and am running .167 with no problems. They're up to .210 now - maybe download a newer version and see if that clears it?

Mine dies pretty fast as well, not fully, but 40-50% is dead to me. I think it's due to my AT&T Navigator as I use that all the time.

I will try to go a week w/o it and see what happens.

Mine is running .167 out of the box. The battery status states it's 70% when the charging indicator turns off. About that time is when the whole phone gets hot. I'll take to the store tomorrow as I have only had the device just at 24 hours.

i charged it from noon until 430 today.. after i deleted the gmail app, and it is still at 90 percent, and that's after phone, text, games... etc.. so i guess it was in fact the gmail app that was sucking the life out of my bold.

nice to see you back up and running

didn't think the gmail app would do it. never installed because there is no reason for it. your an icon person too so I understand.

JT is definitely a battery killer. I suggest AIM and the others supplied by BB, they run better for battery even with more than one running.
