Not as Bad
I just picked up my Bold from AT&T yesterday. I am having the same problem, only my phone will stay charged for about 3 hours. Not to mention the battery will not fully charge and it gets really hot. Is this common or should I take it back to the store?

Is the phone still under its 30 days? If so see if you can get one through the server. That's dying too quick for a new phone.

Yea sounds defective to me-
It should definitely hold a charge longer than that! The Bolds battery life is quite good.
It should be a bit quicker to drain at first until the battery is broken in, but 2-3 hrs?!?!
No way. Sounds like a defect to me."The Philosopher has never killed any Priests, whereas the Priest has killed a great many Philosophers."

That is definitely a defect battery. If you got from at&t, see if they can replace or head down there.

Mine did that early on, getting hot and using battery fast. What release of the OS are you on? I started out at about .148 and am running .167 with no problems. They're up to .210 now - maybe download a newer version and see if that clears it?

Mine dies pretty fast as well, not fully, but 40-50% is dead to me. I think it's due to my AT&T Navigator as I use that all the time.
I will try to go a week w/o it and see what happens.CrackBerry.com Mod | Retired Android Central Mod | Tech Enthusiast

Mine is running .167 out of the box. The battery status states it's 70% when the charging indicator turns off. About that time is when the whole phone gets hot. I'll take to the store tomorrow as I have only had the device just at 24 hours.

i charged it from noon until 430 today.. after i deleted the gmail app, and it is still at 90 percent, and that's after phone, text, games... etc.. so i guess it was in fact the gmail app that was sucking the life out of my bold.
