There really are no original designs any more, and by that I mean every designer is exposed to other ideas and designs and then creates their design with other designs in mind.

Everything with a rounded edge should not equal the iphone look alike neither should any phone that is all touch display with large icons, oh wait that would be Palm OS, WinMobile OS etc (some say those suck but oh well) the point is those OS's and mfg had touch screens with large icons. All Apple did was get rid of all but one button (jobs has an issue with buttons that his problem).

I could care less if the Apple phone is success or not or what they put into it, they could be less memory and people would still buy it just because its Apple which means some (a lot) of those buyers may be viewed as sheep.

In the end I like the over all design it reminds me MORE like the Motorola Q9h (awesome phone) I had it until I went BlackBerry. What I care most about is the memory configuration, OS inside and most importantly the release date on AT&T or RIM's site.

I hope it comes with LED lights like the Pearl, looks like you wont be able to get to the trackball without taking the whole housing off.

That's why I jumped to AT&T, I got sick of waiting 18 months for the new BB's and other hot phones to possibly, maybe someday show up on Verizon.

I was wondering the same thing. Now I read this blog that was linked at the BGR site about how they get such good info and weighing the impact and profitering etc. Interesting read.
