im having this issue now too for the past few days. It seems to be Google Sync - granted, I don't have a Bold, but a Certificate should be same between all devices.

I been getting this popup the last 3 days. I have a 9700 tho on tmobile. Expired certificate only when I open the camera. My friend has 9700/tmo also and there's is doing the same thing. When I view certificates I have like 3 or 4 that are expired and none of them expired that recently. Any ideas?

Default Certificate Expired with WiFi OFF

Dear CB's forum friends
I think I have a bit different issue with one certificate.

I don't use Wi-Fi nor any google maps or similar app.

I only downgraded my BB 8900 from version v5.0.0.1004 back to v5.0.0.661.

Next some updates happen for blackberry messenger, facebook client and other RIM apps.

Forgetting about the updates, I can say that immediately after the downgrade it started popping such annoying certificate warning.

The BIG ISSUE is that clicking the show option doesn't show any detail but simply closes the popup.

The only app I have that runs in the background is the AutoLock for the keyboard which is also the reason to downgrade... Yes, because AutoLock doesn't work with the v5.0.0.1004 version.

Anyway, thank you for any suggestion because this also interference with the restore from the locked screen: really annoying 'cause it pops every few minutes.

Robert

I remember reading there is a setting in facebook that stops it from constantly accessing the net. Sounds like that or some other app is tapping an expired cert. You might get the fringe benny of longer battery life if you find it. It might also be a one time log-on that keeps failing due to the cert being expired. Just guessing here. Good luck.
