Does anyone else have the problem that the button to release the back cover keeps being pushed by accident? Mine takes very little force and whenever I pick up the phone with a finger on the top and bottom (like I do when coming out of sleep mode), I accidentally release the back cover.

Anyone?

Also, I'd love for some luxury back covers.....maybe some very soft hand stitched leather? That'd be sweet.

Nope, it is easy to take off. Much easier to take off than the 8800's and curves.

I would like to get a custom back.

Actually mine is a ***** to take off! I need to pry it off by both sides.

You can get a plastic back cover from cnn.cn , not sure where you can find alternative leather ones though. I read on crackberry blogs that RIM is planning colored covers, check out this link CrackBerry @ WES: BlackBerry Bold Battery Covers | CrackBerry.com

I have had mine for quite a while now and it has never given me any problems with the back cover.
You should take it back to the store and have it checked out with another one
or if you know of someone else who has one to compare with yours.

Looking closely at it, it does appear like the spring should be stronger on mine though.

Mine comes off easily...but not so easily that it comes off by mistake..

If there was a case I was gonna buy it would be the Seido rubberized, that thing looks sweet.

I found that the cover increases the size of the bold by quite a bit. If you take it off then lay the Bold down, it definitely reduces the depth. Does anyone know of custom battery covers being developed which will "hug" closer to the battery itself? Or is the one you can get from cnn.cn not as thick?

I think its the piece of leather that makes it thicker, if you take out the cover, the piece of leather is stuck on behind the plastic.... but the leather gives it a nice feel... pros/cons lol

Mine is also veryyyy hard to take off. I need to push the button very deep in before I could take the cover off.

Its easier enough to take off, nothing too bad! but every time i press the top of the back cover makes a squeaky noise..its annoying me...is it just my Bold that does it?
