Most say it just Fails after a certain amount of use/time (Flash Memory Cards & Batteries). I'm new to eBay and some of the prices are just too good to be true.

i just got an 8g kingston to replace my 2gb sandisk...my pearl will not acknowledge that the card is even in. does it need to be formatted or did i get a bad card? the kingston works fine as a flash drive when i place it in a microsd usb adapter but just not in my blackberry...any ideas?

Here's some overkill, but may help.

1. Format the card on your computer via the card reader, be sure to use FAT32.
2. Insert the card into the Bold. This part actually took me a couple of tries to do correctly. It will feel like it's in, but it will not be completely seated. It should slide in with a slight springy resistance. You will feel a definite click when it seats and the card will not try and push back out.
3. Format the card from you Bold.

Sandisk is just a brand name. I bought a transcend 8 GIG class 6 from Ebay for $14 new... The problem was it shipped from Hong Kong so the wait is 10-15 days. newegg.com is the cheapest and fastest way for class SDHC. Transcend or Kinsgton will work just as good. There is a thread explaining the reasons for classes.

Same card I have from sandisk still costs $60 in the stores....

I just got my new 8 GB Kingston from Newegg, but I'm not sure how to get all the info from the 2 GB SanDisk card I'm taking out of my Curve, onto the new 8 GB Kingston card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's not just a brand name, they're known to be more reliable and on average have faster read/write speeds than most brands... and I'd definitely avoid eBay for purchasing SD cards considering all the fake cards floating around.

You are so right. I thought it would be too good to be true, 8GB, class 6. I spoke with the seller before, made sure it was an original or I would send back and write a horrible review. But it was the real deal, you can't mistake the orginal Sandisk packaging and logo......

I am glad I have it now. Cause it works perfectly with Slacker.

You'd be suprised how they can make packaging and logo nearly identicial. I'm sure a small percentage of cards are the real deal on ebay but I personally avoid it just to save myself the headache in the long run.

Not really but there is a speed difference between the two. I don't usually bother with my Micro SDHC reader unless I'm moving a lot of data (like 5GB of media). Then it pays to have the reader on hand. I've always gotten free readers with various SD cards, so I have some on hand if I need them.
