    Its a 5.5 inch 720p display.

People roasted Z30 when it had a pixel densiry of 298 ppi cuz it was 720p on 5.0 inch

This is 5.5 inches which means even lower ppi... this phone better be well priced and the rest of the phone better be awesome cuz i dont need to look at the display to tell that its probably gonna suck.

Also the phone is too big... 5.0 inches is comfy... 5.5 is entering phablet waters.

Most people will just look at the phone and the price and decide if they want to buy it.

It's 2017. It doesn't need the latest specs in order to appeal to most people in Indonesia.

I agree with OP. The screen would not likely compare well with other NA cheaper phones. For NA BlackBerry Mobile could drop the two sim feature and improve the screen. The NA market likes smaller bezels and a stainless steel trim.

Not sure why there is no all white design. A lot of consumers love their white phones.

This! ^^^^ you get what you pay for. Otherwise pay 550 USD and buy the KEYone or Dtek60 are on sale....but of course those are overpriced right?

Some people just want something for nothing

We will have to see the reviews but I suspect that the screen might the flaw that most reviewers concentrate on. 1080 P seems to be available on most phones in that price range.

The screen is good enough to see movie clear and icons are not 8 bits. I read a review from kompass and some other reviewers and seems that the device is clear and good and nothing negative about the screen pixels or resolution or ppi or whatever. So in my opinion a good budget device with nice amount of RAM and good enough for social media and watching you-tube.

Except the camera (at least ...)

And my guess is that this phone will well and truly suit the Indonesian market.

There's a separate licensing deal for India and my understanding is that like Indonesia, they require local manufacturing.

If the Aurora is being more assembled than manufactured in Indonesian, then perhaps a variation of it could be "manufactured" in India, especially if the design originates with a certain Chinese company.

If you want to make a 250$ BlackBerry the satisfactory specs should be
    Snapdragon 810 (xiaomi gives 820 for 250$)
    4gb ram (LPDDR3)
    1080p 5.0 inch display
    8mp front camera
12mp rear camera with ois and f/1.7 aperture with 1.55 um pixels
Glass weave build with aluminum sides
    Gorilla glass 3

And BlackBerry would still have enough profit margin on their phones after all these parts

Not happening. If you are hoping for BlackBerry to compete with Xiomi or 1+, keep dreaming. At the price point, if you see the overall package, the Aurora is an extremely good buy.

Xiaomi software it's a crap and you can't get blackberry secure software. Hardware specification is meaningless if you can't bundling with good software, my iphone 5S more flawless even with smaller RAM (compare with others)

Xiaomi sells Redmi note 4 for 181 USD with SD 625, 3GB of ram, 1080p screen, 5MP front camera, 13MP rear camera, fingerprint sensor, IR blaster. They sold so many of Redmi note 3 last year, this successor might be following. And it's not a crap just because it doesn't run blackberry software. Many Indonesian will not buy blackberry for its priv apps, even in playstore their apps still have low download numbers with average rating. Their hope is sold under spec'ed phone to make huge profit, sorry but that would not work in Indonesia.

It's a great deal for the price.

The biggest surprise so far: it feels very well built.

Could you tell us more about the device? performance, camera, Nougat features, and how well is it selling in Indonesia?
