Totally agree with an temp icon

It would be good to display the temperature in the homescreen icon or notification area. | Hey scottb and Roscopcoletrain. Can you elaborate on your idea a little?
Currently, we have the Current conditions/temperature display when you focus (rollover) the app icon on the HomeScreen. Do you mean have the actual icon as the temperature?
Thanks for your feedback!

well, I'd hate to compare to another app but for example, berryweather lets you do this. Notice the temp icon in the notification area. Something similar to this would be nice.

BB 8330 running OS 4.5.0.169.
I loaded the beta over WeatherEye 1.0 with no problems. The app appears to work perfectly with one exception. I believe another poster mentioned this so I apologize if it was covered & I missed it, but I have set the app to update every 30 minutes. It's now 12:14 and the screen notes last update at 11:30. Is this a reference to the last time the forecast was updated or to the last time the app updated? If the former, it might be worthwhile to have the screen show "Forecast Last Updated" instead of just "Updated". Overall, an excellent application!

Thanks for the idea. We will include it in our discussions as we go through this beta process.
Thanks again.

There is a new release of the beta, two small changes: betatesting.pelmorex.com
1. It is now called WeatherEyeBeta. This way you can install and use it together with WeatherEye 1.x. Please remove the previous version of the beta since the new and the old version will not work together, but will install since the name was changed.
2. Changed how log file is being handled. This will hopefully help with the IO error some people were getting. Unfortunately I still could not reproduce it on one of the devices we have (including v5), but the change might help if my guess to the cause of the error is correct.
Thank you for the feedback

dollface & roscopcoletrain:
We looked it up and it seems that the custom notification icon is only supported in OS 4.6 and above: how to show notification icon in v4.2 to v4.5 vers... - BlackBerry Support Community Forums
As the lowest OS we currently support is 4.2.1 - we do this to reach a maximum number of devices; we chose this OS because this is the first OS to support WiFi - having a custom icon as you see in WeatherBug Elite and BerryWeather is more than likely not possible at this time.
We definitely like the idea, but at this time cannot support it.

In the hourly forecast, after selecting to view the next 6 hours, the information is set below the grid making it difficult to view.

Overall, an excellent application! | Update time you set on options screen refers to the home screen icon update time (icon you see when not running the app)
Updated on the current conditions screen refers to when the Observation was collected, what happens is that whenever you move from screen to screen or switch city we check how old the data is and if it is too old we update it from the server so you get fresh data. This data might change or it might not, depending if meteorologists made any changes to the data or if new observation arrived etc Quote: |

| Unfortunately if we include calls to the API not available on the device and then try to run the app, it will crash even if do not attempt to call the API. Alternatively we could produce separate versions of the application, but that makes things harder for us to maintain. Reason why support 4.2.1 and above is that WiFi support was added in that version.

It seems it can't find any city in Belgium. It only lists USA cities, too bad though

running the app now on my pearl 8100 on os 4.5
i notice this with 1.0 also, but sometimes a feels like temp is not displayed.
i would try homescreen icon mode, but i'm reluctant to since it really slowed down the performance of my phone on 1.0
works fine with no problems though.
