Default UberTwitter error says access blocked by IT Policy. But I HAVE NONE. Brand new 9700

Help. There is NO it policy, it is a brand spanking new 9700. Only thing I can think of is that it's due to my Bold 9000 backup file being loaded onto my 9700 but there's no IT policy (i checked) and all permissions allowed to edit are changed to "allow." I don't know whats going on. Ubertwitter won't boot. Trust me tried the whole wiping, reinstalling blah blah blah. Any ideas on what won't let ubertwitter run? says ubertwitter tried to open a connection inside th efirewall and outside the firewall not allowed by my it policy.

Turn your firewall off.

The error is misleading. It's not an IT Policy that is causing this, but the firewall that does. This also happens with Slacker.

I have never posted on this forum, but I have used it a ton...I was having the same issue with UberTwitter and finally figured it out so I just had to share...I found this post out here (my apologies for not quoting the source or linking back etc.. but I copied and pasted just to get it out here to you quickly...)

HOW-TO: Remove IT Policy without blank IT policy file

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To remove the IT policy:

plug in blackberry to computer
open up command prompt (start->run->cmd)
type cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
push enter
type LOADER.exe /resettofactory
push enter

This will wipe the phone, put back on the latest installed OS, and remove the IT policy.

This is the ONLY thing that allowed me to get UberTwitter back working again after removing my phone from an enterprise server. Good luck!
