Default Sick and Tired of Storm and Bold Apps!!

I need to vent for a minute !! I subscribe to several poplular RSS feeds (that will remain nameless) that promote BB devices, BB software, and BB news. Just like the rest of you, I am a BB Crackhead. I love my Berry and would not know how to function without it. BTW, there needs to be a 12-step program for those of us that know we have a problem!

I have a Curve 83XX. This is a wonderful device. Unfortunately, my service provider does not offer the Bold or Curve, yet. And if they did, I honestly cannot say that I would be in a hurry to upgrade. Why would I? I have a solid OS and it does a lot of cool stuff. I anxiously browse through my BB RSS feeds each morning looking for the latest and greatest new apps for the Curve 83XX. Surprise surprise!! Nothing! It's all about the Bold, 8900 Curve, and Storm! The 83XX is here to stay! There's no telling how much money is being overlooked by these developers passing up the opportunity to create apps for the 83XX series Curve. The free apps that come out are ok, but they're nothing compared to what's being developed for the newer devices. Verizon is the only carrier that offers the Storm. Granted, Verizon makes up a significant percentage of the cellular market, but not all Verizon customers have a Storm. Although I don't know this for sure, I would venture to say that there is a much higher percentage of non-Storm customers out there than Storm customers. Think about the 83XX people! We want to buy your apps too! If you build it, they will buy it.

I'm just saying... I think there is way too much hype over these newer phones. Give them some time people. They are buggy and don't work as well as the need to. Don't be a guinea pig. Save your money and wait for a solid platform. They will eventually get it right. Until then, stick with the tride and true Berrys that you know will deliver. Curve users...UNITE!!!

I agree there are way to many bugs in the newer phones to even be thinking about upgrading. As far as apps go. I would love the zelda game. They have it out for 8900 and a few others I believe but not for 83XX. I have a bunch of icons from different websites I like but as far as apps go I only have the basic ones and pacman which I'm pissed bc the sound it crazy loud and there is no way to adjust the volume or mute the game! Sighs! What are some other good apps in your opinion I may be open to try them.

I heart my 8330, and I too am getting annoyed by all the exposure to the new phones, but hey, that's progress I guess. I just hate the idea that the new OS won't be ported to the 83xx. We are all supposed to just be happy with status quo and not want more unless we pony up for a new phone. If that's indeed true, RIM gets a big finger up from me.
