I downloaded Quick Pull a week ago, and have it set for 3:30 AM. At first I was skeptical about downloading this because I just couldn't see an application having the ability to make my slow phone react properly. I finally said what could it hurt, it is free, and downloaded it. Now I have been noticing that my OS seems REALLY fast, I mean its almost like I got an update from .148. Could it be that our phones really do store Powerful capabilities that have been masked by bugs+User Error?
I was at work today, and decided to watch Tropic Thunder on my phone(movies are awesome on this thing) and it caught the attention of a co-worker. "You can do what???!" Yes I can play movies on my phone here take a look. And he was SO amazed. Its funny how many people honestly dont know whats out there.
So back to the main point. I was playing music on my Storm while at work(what better thing to play with during work than a multi-tasking device) and I get a text message. I easily, smoothly, and quickly closed out the media screen while the music was still playing, and answered a text message. Then I got an email and responded to it. Then got on the internet while still playing music and it dawned on me. Usually my phone would freeze in these attempts to multi-task(I think I'm ADD because I will open internet and then jump to a game then jump to music in split seconds) but for some reason it did not freeze. AT ALL. It has been running so quick and smooth for the past few days its really scary.
I realize that its not so much of a burden to install an app that does batteries pulls, and while some think that we shouldn't need that, technically it is healthy maintenance for a phone that doubles as a PC. Quick pulls are necessary regardless because its ability to multi-task offers lots of room for many apps running at the same time in the background causing LAG.
Could it be that the Storm is just a really high-maintenance device? Whatever it is, I am now really confident in my phone, and have realize that it's multi-tasking capabilities make me feel alot less restricted. I couldn't image what owning a phone without those capabilities would be like!
I highly recommend quick pull to anyone still having problems.

your phone doesnt need a daily reset. If it does, or needs several in 1 day, then it has issues that need to be addressed. All you are doing is hiding them. eventually you will get to the point like many and start the phone with 20 MBs of memory and withing 5-7 hours, be at 0MB. Then you go on here and create a thread asking why your phone works like ****.

It may not NEED a daily reboot but that doesn't mean it won't benefit from one. I also run quickpull everyday and it makes a difference.
Glad to hear it is working for you.

I'm sleeping when it does it, so there's no extra effort on my part. Besides, it's the same as if you were to leave a computer running all day. Even computers should be shut down.

I used to do it too back on like 122 or something but since the 13x series and on i quit because the phone can now run several days with no issues and stay around 30MBs free mem

hmmm.... you may be right. In fact, what if alot of people are suffering the same issue. I don't think alot of people know that they are running many applications at once.

QP seems to mess up if I leave my phone charging on USB. Is the a QP issue or a problem with my phone?
This is with mass storage mode off even....

While I do practice other memory management tips, I HIGHLY recommend a quickpull a day with the storm. Truth be told the Storm has issues and in particular it has a bad memory leak. Yea yea 3rd Party Apps or themes are often at fault, BUT it leaks no matter WHAT. A scheduled daily pull (3am is good), can help MUCH.
