Default Opera Mini 5 beta is pretty dope!!

Wow. Finally getting some speed!!! decided to be like my phone and download opera mini 5 beta!!! Its a beta version but seems to work alright for me at the moment. I love the design. Seems and feels modern with hints of many familiar browsers. Built in google ala safari. Its super intuitive and seems to understand and resize on the fly what I want to see when browsing. Made me shut off my laptop which was an important goal for my 9700 experience. Seems like a total winner if it stays stable.

bugs- there is a delete bug when typing but hasn't made me stop browsing with it.

Default I concur however,,,,

Where is the regular non beta. Ive been running the beta for 3 months now!! time to get rid of the dumping of url in the address bar when u try to type in address and hit the back space key and all is gone. Try an ota link....requesting......nothing ....try again.....dump .....nada. It rocks for the quickness but these bugs...wtf!!

Actually........

I'm an Opera Mini Fan for years...

5.0 Is a Total Bust and has many flaws.

The main flaw is: When you are typing out anything and want to delete one single letter is runs on it's own and deletes the whole entire field.

What is the point of even releasing it with such a major flaw for anyone who needs to input letters while on the net.

Sure the main page is cool with the Page bookmarks, but that's abou it.

I never imagined I would not be using Opera while on my phone, but I deleted it a few weeks ago. Bolt is doing fine and the built in browser does the job.

If by dope you mean bug-laden and lacking features that were in 4.2, then yes, it is dope.

What is better/different about Bolt. Opera Mini has been working fine for me for past 6 days....I like the way it enlarges the area you want to work with...and how it defaults to Blackberry to type in info/passwords, etc. I don't like the delay time it takes to load itself.

Disabling Inline Editing in Settings seems to work for me

The bug I encountered on bold is that trackball coordinates is not calibrated correctly.
It sometimes opens the link just above even if the correct link is highlighted. Also had trouble selecting checkbox as I sometimes can never get the cursor on spot. My trackball sensitivity is at 80/80.

Also the text editor is lame.

I can still live with these shortcoming as its renders the page much much better that the default BB browser

cheers

beta 2 is out but is not so good for 9700 unless you follow this guys instruction. worked perfectly and was very easy. Deleting problem solved which was the only thing really bothering me. i love it.

Posting from opera 5 beta 2 with the above trick. For me opera 5 is making this phone hustle and I am surfing just like I would on my ibook with great 3g and wifi speed. I'm stoked and giddy. This was the type of internet experience I am looking for!!!!

Does anyone know how I can change the settings so that opera mini beta will work on my data plan?
For some reason it will only work on wifi. When trying to connect using data it says "unable to connect.check settings"
My data is working. Bolt, opera mini non-beta and bb browser all work. But not the beta version.
Is this a limitatiom of the beta browser? Or am I screwing something up somewhere.
Please help!
