try deleting location profiler and make sure profiler works before you re-install location profiler.
I deleted Location rofiler and reset Profiler, but it still didn't change. As a result, I just uninstalled Profiler and plan to reinstall Location Profiler.

I am wondering why the beta for the storm requires purchase/registration?
I like the concept here and would like to test but would not pay to work out the bugs.
Any relief for the beta testers?

STRANGE BEHAVIOR:

1. I have LocationProfiler (LP) set to change to Vibrate when I am at work and Loud when I leave. LP has identified 9 different cell towers in my buillding. I have 2 different LP profiles set to Vibrate while at work. LP will still sometimes change my profile to Loud but when I do a GetLocation, the cell tower identified is already in my list of assigned to Vibrate @ Work. Perhaps there is another tower but after repeated tries, I cannot seem to identify the other cell tower. I am thinking LP is seeing a tower briefly because it will change back to Vibrate within a short time. It may make sense to add some sort of timer to LP so that a cell tower has to be "seen" for at least X secs or minutes before causing LP to change a profile.

2. Sometimes when LP is trying to change a profile, the profile window will just remain on the phone screen, stuck on random profile. I have to manually select the one I want to "unstick" the window.

Any ideas on how to resolve these two issues?

Lets see if i can help here.

1. LP, I think, checks for location changes every minute, so that may be what's contributing to this problem.

2. I think the dev is working on this. I've seen this error as well, but more so after a reboot. Not sure if I've seen it get stuck randomly.

we are seeing the same behavior. Sometimes when the main tower is not available you will get a new cell id thus triggering LP to switch the "Leave" profile. this could be just very brief. we can try to add some kind of delay and make sure the cell id trigger remains before switching the profile.

the profile with stuck profile screen could be a number of things. eg: some event caused LP not to work, sometimes you might have accidently touched the screen.

Default 1.0.14 beta

here is v1.0.14 Location Profiler beta

OTA Storm www.toysoft.ca/storm/LocationProfiler.jad

OTA Others www.toysoft.ca/beta/LocationProfiler.jad

changes
------------

- on the Storm you can change a wallpaper for the location

- when you turn on the BB profiler will check the location

- added minutes to check for profile in the Prefs. You can set to delay
upto 5 mins before checking the location. hopefully this will solve
the problem for users who drive by their location.

This thread will die from lack of testers as all their trial periods expire.

/Myself already included in those numbers.

My trial version has expired, and unfotrunatly I didnt get a chance to see the application fundtioning correctly on my bb 9700!

The application knows when the location changes, but all it does is pop up the sound profile dialogue without setting the new profile as requested and without turning on / off the WiFi or Bluetooth.

Battery pull has been done and all permissions have been set to "allow".

Is there a fix planned version to resolve these issues?

I really want to buy the app, but need to see it working first.

Default Same here

My trial also expired and honestly didn't see the app working once.... y liked the idea of turning on/off wifi & bluetooth, but didn't work, "and I had the BB unlocked" witch is another downside to the app.
Another thing is that $6.95 USD... is way to much money for a "buggy" nonfunctional app, there is one for android phones way better, 10 years in the future of this one for only $4 USD....
Anyway... if it worked... I'd pay for it...

Default New version 1.1

Has anyone tried the new version? The last version I saw discussed is v 1.0.14.

I am currently running the trial mode of v1.1 and so far I am seeing the same issues reported above. I keep my Storm 2 in a holster (with magnet) and the unit does not change, only brings up the profiles menu.

I also added locations and adjusted a profile, and out of the holster, I got the notification of tower change, but the profile did not change, it just brought up the menu.

I now have 2 locations to be able to test the app better and I will have a better idea of operation over the weekend, but so far, this version seems to still haev the same hiccups as before.

I am impressed with the GPS tracking as well. That is nice, but if I cannot have the profiles change automatically, the GPS is useless.
