New Audible App for Blackberry released today (19-May-2009)

A new update for Audible just came out....downloaded version 1.4.4 and fixes the audio compatibility issues with OS 5.0. Just played about 30-40 minutes of one of my audible books and have had no issues. Just start the app and you will be prompted with an upgrade message.

Worked great. I did notice some weird volume issues. Every once in a while the volume would go down for a couple words and then go back up. Anyone else have that?

I had it show up on my Storm with this latest update. I also want to try a different book file because the one I am currently listening to sounds terrible. It sounds like it is being read over a bad cell phone through an AM radio.

The Audible ver 1.4.4 application works adequately with Storm Firmware version 5.0.0.328.

There are still usability and playback issues, the same ones that have been present for a while now, but I can once again listen to Audible books.

Here is to hoping that Audible continues to develop this application. Audible if you are listening you have quite a ways to go before this becomes a polished easy to use application.
Issues still present:
1. Occasional stutters during playback (This is not as bad as it once was but is still present)
2. No bookmark capability
3. Balky and laggy user controls for fast forward and rewind
4. Battery killer if playback is paused and app is left in the background
5. Application takes forever to exit
6. No support for hardware pause key to pause playback
7. No bluetooth remote pause/play support

It would have been nice if they would have let us know there was an upgrade. I'm glad I looked here.

I downloaded the newest audible app and though it was fine (well, mostly - still hiccups annoyingly, no good way to pause without taking out of holster and what a BOTHER as I listen while I cook...messy hands trying to pause) anyhow....6 hours into my glorious book and it is now buffering! And wont stop or come out of it. What to do? Can't get back to my library, nothing.
