jivetalk vs Gtalk

I was so close to buying Jivetalk today because its ******** awesome, but then something happened!

I ran out of my trial period for jivetalk yesterday, so I intalled Gtalk just to hold me over for a couple of days until I got paid. Today noticed that my battery life today drastically increased! Usually. I'm down to 50-60% by 5 o'clock after my use. Today it was barely below 85%! My battery has never lasted so long!!

Anyone else have had similar experiences? I'm so tempted to just set up Gtalk with jabber in order to I'm. Maybe I just didn't have the right settings active in Jivetalk to extend the battery? Anyone have any input?

Did you click battery save mode when idle? I haven't tried Gtalk that's google right? So it wouldn't do me any good if all my friends are on yahoo?

Its the opposite for me. It seems like gtalk runs the battery down faster than jivetalk. I dunno what the deal is. Maybe it has to do with ghe number of accounts you use with jivetalk?

Hmmm.... Maybe. I did read that Jivetalk checks for any changes every 2 minutes unless its on idle battery save mode, which then makes it check every 5 minutes. I've noticed with gtalk that when I open it up, it then changes people's statuses and stuff. Like it waits for me to access it first before checking.
