I was just telling my friend the other day how I did not like the fact that the calendar and tasks were separate on my BB. I am excited about this app! This will work wonders for me in coordinating my school work when I'm away from my desktop.

From your BlackBerry please download got-2 from m.gwhizmobile.com

You will first need to review some terms and conditions and then you will go to the downloads page. Look for "got-2" on that page.

Otherwise you can go to the "Downloads" page on our main web site gwhizmobile.com. Here you can get the file that works with BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

Hope this helps!

Yes, you can exit out of the application by hitting the Escape (left facing curved arrow) key twice. Please see the earlier post regarding battery use for details. Essentially, got-2 registers task locations with services already running on your phone and then restarts when those locations are reached.

Please let me know if I missed your question. Thanks!

I LOVE IT!!!

I've been looking for something that works like this and integrates with the existing task/calendar of the bb.

Thanks!

i'm definitely new to my blackberry pearl (aka my new best friend) but i guess i know i can exit out, but can i close it?

i have no problem getting back to the home screen or anything, but i'd assume the program still runs in the background. if i wanted to stop the program temporarily and not get alerts or anything, could i turn it off and not just exit out?

thanks for your speedy reply and hopefully i can get a little more clarification

I downloaded the first version and had a few issues so I removed it and downloaded the newest version and a few of the issues seem to have gone away. Here are my current issues that I am still having.

- When creating a new "Task" in this app it places it on my calendar if I put a Due Date which is not what I want. I want it to place it in the Tasks list with all my other tasks.

- Any existing tasks it will not recognize the due date and they show up in the Week View as "Unscheduled"? If I add a due date it saves it to the calendar. I would really like for them to show up on the view based on the Due Date I defined (and not on my calendar).

- Not all Tasks are showing up in my list. It appears that anything with a reoccurrence set does not show up?

- I have one task that was created on the BlackBerry, it does not show up in got2 and when I try to edit it in the native BB task app and save it tells me "Task Updated Externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed". If I uninstall this app I can edit this task no problem.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the follow-up!

got-2 has nothing running in the background unless you have at least one location based alert configured. Essentially, we register a location with the core BlackBerry GPS capability and ask it to alert got-2 when you are in proximity to that location. got-2 is running in the background to listen for that alert and then pop a notification to the screen. There is no way in the current release to turn off this "listening" except that when got-2 sees the core BlackBerry GPS capability cannot get a GPS fix, it sleeps, as described in the earlier thread on battery use.

Schedule based alerts are registered with the BlackBerry calendar which creates schedule based notifications. got-2 does not run in the background for these.

You can find a little more detail in the Implementation Notes on our gwhizmobile.com website under "Products", "got-2", and "got-2 Help".

I hope this helps!

Default Gwhiz!

[QUOTE=skicson;612775]We at gWhiz are happy to announce our latest FREE software offering: got-2 (BETA)!

You can download got-2 from our website, either OTA or to your desktop.

A description (and screenshot) follows:

got-2: Task Management For "List People"

If you prefer crossing items off your list versus constantly checking your calendar, then our new, FREE, got-2 Task Manager is for you. Not only does it synchronize nicely with the task list and BlackBerry calendar, it also allows you to easily generate task lists and sublists. And...it's FREE.

You might think that those features would make got-2 cool enough...but...

got-2 also has an sophisticated reminder system that will alert you either by a given date/time or a GPS location!

got-2's GPS location alerts can prompt you when you are near home, a business, a friends house, or anywhere you'd like to be reminded of something. No more leaving the store without remembering everything you wanted to get; No more forgetting to pick up something that was on the way. Save your sanity and your gas, never backtrack again!

Key Features:

* One easy to read screen with collapsible lists, subtasks, and agenda items.
* Choose your preferred view: simple list or week agenda.
* Get alerts based on time or location
* Share tasks and lists via email
* Prioritize-as-you-go by moving items up/down
* Keep track of progress by marking off tasks, appointments, agenda items, and subtasks.
* Stores data in BlackBerry Tasks and Calendar - synchronizes with Outlook and Google calendar.
* Location integration with Google or BlackBerry maps.
* It's FREE!

The desktop download link is broken. I tried the OTA. No luck what the hey am I doing wrong? Is something trying to tell me to not download and install another app on my 8800. I think I am living the revenge of the machine.

This is right up my alley and will only add to my neurotic pension for crossing things off of lists! Thanks for this one!
