One more thing I have not seen mentioned (unless I missed it) is that if you have a family or someone calling you long distance frequently which costs them a lot of money you can set up your GV number in their area code so that they can call you for free.

Also all the international calls to your blackberry mobile number are much more expensive than calls to GV number in regular area code so if you have a family abroad they pay a low rate to ring your mobile. I can only imagine the riot when GV goes international eventually and all the calls are free! Thank you google!

Most of the discussion has to do with advantages to YOU... you calling out and receiving calls will be covered if you use the number in the correct way.

Your relatives won't have free calls to you as-is.

Yes they will if you set up your GV number in their area code as most local calls to stationary numbers are basically free.

Yep... in your original post, I saw "long distance" and took that to mean "international." Stateside, you should be fine, though it has been a long while since I have been charged differently for long distance and local calls. My cell number is based in an area code hundreds of miles away, and so is my GV number.

I noticed a different number came up on my cell when I had someone call me, will it always be that same second number or will that vary? I will do some testing if I must, but perhaps one of you guys has already tested it? Does the same number keep coming up on your Caller ID when someone calls your GV number?
Kind of a coincidence that you closed the thread for moderation and then mysteriously get an invite to the voice program..... LOL. I wonder if they read these forums!!!!

3C, are you able to sms more than one person at a time with GVD?

I don't know, I've never tried it. Trying now! Will report back in 2 minutes.

Finding: Nope, as of right now it will only let me SMS one person at a time.

But, if you skip GVD to SMS and reply using the BB native messaging app, you can SMS more than one person at a time.

woohoo just got it set up on my sprint account - confirmed that it didn't use any "anytime" minutes for both incoming and outgoing calls.

amazing =)
