Red face Google Maps app, how to download?

Is there anyway to direct download google maps to my blackberry 9530, without using the built in browser? since im not on a bis plan, ive only got opera mini to use, updated my service books to allow mms and all that - so im pushing the envelope of my smartphone's functionality, I was wondering if there's any updated zip file out there with the app, so i can install it with my desktop manager or some kind of solution like that?

The Google BlackBerry applications all require an active BlackBerry Data Plan (BIS) in order to work.

Even if you could figure out a way to load it (and I've never seen a desktop installation option for it), it would not work on the device without an active BlackBerry Data Plan.

Ah I read a thread indicating it works with wifi, no bis plan needed.

www(dot)filehosting(dot)org/file/details/305483/GoogleMaps.cod

Here is a link to the GoogleMaps.cod file that I pulled off my device using the following javaloader command.

Code:
javaloader save GoogleMaps
The module is version 4.5.3 and has the following dependencies:
net_rim_cldc
net_rim_os
net_rim_bbapi_browser
net_rim_bbapi_menuitem
net_rim_pdap
net_rim_bbapi_invoke
net_rim_bbapi_mailv2
net_rim_bb_browser_field_api
net_rim_locationapi

You can load it on to your device using the following javaloader command:

Code:
javaloader load GoogleMaps.cod
Hope this is helpful.

I really appreciate that perplexed, it installed fine. It's stuck loading the TOS, which I'm assuming needs to be pulled from somewhere, so it might work.

But of course my opera mini only works 30% of the time anyway, so it might be having a similar issue. if i get it running ill let u guys know.

Strange results. After a while the TOS showed up I pressed accept.

After a while more, my GPS worked, it showed me in the correct position

directions aren't working, maps not loading (99% of the time). i switched it to sat. maps exited it, ran it. sat. maps were up showing exactly where i lived on the gps portion, tried scrolling around the map wont load other areas, nor will zoom give me an enhanced map only a pixalated one.

seems like the problem i have with opera mini. hardly works, but when it does it works totally normal. i wish i knew why that was, id reckon my phone would be a lot better if i knew.

Could be to do with one of the modules being corrupted e.g. net_rim_cldc which as far as I can gather handles network I/O but that's just a suggestion. It would be interesting to know what modules you have installed at any rate which you can find by running:

Code:
javaloader dir -d > module_list.txt
my net_rim_cldc is version 6.0.0.668 and 2631940 Bytes

If I was having these kind of issues I'd consider reinstalling the OS but I presume you've already considered that.

If cldc was corrupted, the OS wouldn't even boot up.

This blackberry's killin me! So I upgraded my OS, was 4.7, not it's 5.0 and Google Maps is working fine now, Opera mini loading all the time (as far as i can tell)

But now my native browser, mms, n all that which I fixed by updating my service books, all gone.

I have the service books, I tried to restore them in the desktop manager and it's just not configuring my mms, or getting my browser back. any ideas

i can't win!
i swear if it's the last thing i do i will save that 10 dollars a month.. I REFUSE TO GET BIS
