| | G-Mail plugin and BerryBuzz
So I DL'ed the Gmail plugin, which I kinda like, and want to keep, but whenever I check my new e-mails, my LED notification continues to blink even after I've checked my message. I've got my SMS and e-mails seperated, so I check my e-mail in their dedicated folder, and the LED only goes off after I go to the Messages folder and check the e-mail there too. I use BerryBuzz to handle my LED notifications, so I'm wondering if this is a problem with the Gmail app, or if it's a peoblem with BerryBuzz? Anyone else having this problem?

Have you tried changing the default LED settings for "Repeat Notification" to None instead of LED Flashing?
I don't use the Gmail app so I'm not sure if it shows up in Profiles > Advanced, but if it does that may help.

You may need to email BerryBuzz Support and see if they have a solution for this then. Sounds like BerryBuzz may not be compatible with the new plugin at this moment.

I did already, they sent me an e-mail back telling me to re-set my e-mail and download the plugin again, then told me if I have any additional problems to post to their forum for more information... which I did, and haven't gotten an answer...

Ah, it's not just me. I definitely think it's the Gmail plugin. Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

I got rid of the plugin. I couldn't handle the constant flashing and I didn't like the fact that the plugin icon overrides the mail icon used in themes.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | if you reload berrybuzz when you register and it opens it gives you a warning about unnecessary flashing and how to not get them, by not selecting reminders
I am running Berrybuzz and the gmail app and its fine

Why don't you just change the setting for messages so that it does not notify you when you have an email. The unfrtunate thing is that you will have to check your email regularly but you won't have to open two things.

I am running Berrybuzz and the gmail app and its fine | Yeah, I know what you're talking about...not sure if I have my BerryBuzz set up that way, but I never had a problem with it until the Gmail plugin. I just got fed up with it and deleted it. Now my LED works fine and I have the theme based mail icon back! |

the flashing seems to be from the messages folder. I have deleted messages in the email folder, it keeps flashing, and as soon as i enter the messages folder, it stops. Might have to change the setting in berrybuzz, but not sure yet

I e-mailed Bellshare again about this problem, and the guy told me that I might want to upgrade my OS from the 4.5.0.66 that I currently have to the newest version for the 8330. Even tho I didn't want to upgrade to a newer version (as the .66 version is the only approved version USCC offers me, and I don't want to void my warranty coverage). I personally don't think this is an OS problem, since I'm not the only person experiencing this.
To reply to the previous post about deleting the notification entirely, I don't want to do that because then I would have wasted the $6 that I spent for the app in the beginning. It's not my fault it's not working with the plugin, and I don't feel that I should compromise just because.
I have an additional question, where is everyone seeing this new g-mail icon? When I DL'd the plugin, it just integrated itself into my normal e-mail folder, so I've got the all catching Messages folder, my e-mail address (gmail) folder, and my SMS/MMS folder. Am I missing a folder??
And let me close out with my disapointment with the BellShare Tech Support. Now, I do understand that this is a new problem that there may not be a solution for at this time, and I'm fine with that, but when I sent off the initial e-mail reporting my problem, I received an answer telling me to re-download the plugin, and if I have any more problems to post to their support forum. First, if I wanted to post to their forum, I would have done that first. I posted here first to get the problem in the open to alert other users to this, and to see if anyone is having the same problem, and if they found a fix. So, as directed, I then posted to their forum, where someone else already started a thread for this particular problem. There, the moderator had asked the user and myself a couple general questions, then ended with that he's having no problems, and left it at that, and no one else posted or offered any help, or suggestions. I then e-mailed tech support again, and jockeyed back and forth for a little bit with them, and I was told in the end to listen to what the moderator in the BellShare forum tells me to do... BUT HE DIDN'T TELL ME ANYTHING!!! I would have been much happier had they just said they were working on the problem, and an update to the app should be forthcoming once a fix has been found. So, that's that...
Anyway, I know where to go to get help, that's why I'm still posting here. I love the CB forums and the info found here. It seems like everyone works as a team to figure out a solution to the problems some of us face with our devices. So, anyone having the same problem? Any ideas on a solution? I'm still at a loss...

I have one more suggestion to possibly fix this. I'm not sure how much help it will be but it came to mind after looking at the BerryBuzz settings.
Go into BerryBuzz in your options menu and scroll all the way down to where it says "Settings". Open that and go down to the setting "Clear LED for Messages on" and change to "First Trackball/Keyboard Activity". It may or may not help; I'm not sure as I don't use GMail so I couldn't test it out but it never hurts to try.
