Default Facebook 1.6 homescreen

Is there any way to make the notifications page instead of the status page the "home page" for the new facebook 1.6? Am I the only one who finds it annoying to have to switch screens to get to the notifications??

I was thinking exactly the same thing yesterday!!!! If there is a way to change it... I'd love to know about it. Especially since the status loading takes forever on the homepage.

I'd like to know this too. Also, are there shortcut keys to get to each of the functions? Before you could press "p" to poke someone, is there such a thing for highlights, notifications, etc?

You can hit N for notifications. They tell you the shortcut if you highlight each button. I wsih the notifications page was the default screen as well

Well I found shortcuts but no luck on the default screen Here are the shortcuts I found:

In the notification list
• To view status updates, press S.
• To view your friend list, press F.
• To send a friend request, press V.
• To write on a friend's Wall, press W.
• To send a message to a friend, press M.
• To send a poke to a friend, press P.
• To upload a picture, press U.
In a notification
• To view the next notification in the list, press N.
• To view the previous notification in the list, press P.

You can press N to get to notifications, but by default the app loads with the cursor on the text field for your status, so you need to move off the text field for it to take your shortcut key.

Does the P function still work for you? I've found since upgrading to 1.6 I can't poke people that way anymore. I get notified of an incoming poke but if I want to poke someone otherwise I have to go the friends list and select poke from there or go to their profile and select poke from there.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure about the "P" function since I don't really use it. But there are a few things they changed with 1.6 that they shouldn't have ... IMO.

yeah i wish the notifications page was the first thing that opened up when you run the app. oh and i hate the fact that it takes 10 minutes for me to post on anyone's wall since it takes that long to refresh my friends list.

The automatic refreshing of the status' is stupid! I go in and out of Facebook all the time. Sometimes within a few minutes. I don't need it to refresh everytime I open Facebook.

Just slows me down.

This is annoying for me as well. The status page takes a while to load. I hate when I try to send a message to a contact and it begins to refresh my friends list, which takes for ever. I can't figure why it is so much faster to access the same information through your browser, while the Facebook app takes a while. I'm not talking about being just a little slower. It's a lot slower.
