Thanks for this great utility.
I used it on my Storm to get rid of the firewall lock.
So it does work with a Storm...I had previous to this had the IT policy removed but, couldn't get the firewall unlocked.

Thanks!

CrackUtil will remove an IT Policy if you are running OS 4.3 or better but like I said above....
My humble apologies if you figured this out and I missed it but I have the exact same issue, and can post the Event Log if that helps...

I get the same floating point error, I can take screenshots, retrieve my event log, clear log, but can not retrieve file listing....grrr. Using XP Pro on my personal laptop with my own Storm (4.7.0.103) but I am on my company BES - they don't clamp down on the phone though I can do pretty much anything else to it.

Would Reseting IT Policy reset my service books and everything? Sorry not familiar with the BES world just with messing with my Storm .

As many have said, THANK YOU!!!! so much for this wonderful app! I have a Curve 8330 with OS 4.5 and it worked like a charm. Read instructions carefully (because of all the RED warnings! ) but very easy to use.

I can't believe Verizon is clueless about this problem. I switched from BES to BIS after realizing I didn't really need it since I could use OWA to push corporate email. But thanks to the smarties at CrackBerry, I've got things exactly how I want 'em!

Muchas Gracias!!!

No it will not. If you are running OS 4.3 or higher, CrackUtil can completely remove an IT Policy but this process is toally non-selective. It is all or nothing.

The only way to do what you wish is to do it via the BES IT Policy managed by the IT dept that designed the IT Policy in the first place.

I have a question. For the sake of reading all 11 pages to find the answer, would someone acknowledge whether or not this program would completely remove an IT policy? I have a blank policy on my previous phone to mask the corporate one, but my concern is when I sell the phone and whether or not the next person will have issues loading an IT policy from THEIR company. Thoughts?

Your having used CrackUtil to remove your IT Policy will have no effect on a subsequent owner's IT Policy. The Policy is pushed by the BES. If you reconnect your phone to your BES, you'll get your IT policy back, regardless of your current blank policy.

Ok that's fine. So if they aren't going to use it with a BES, will this remove the IT policy completely?

Thanks for the information Jeff.

Pete's busy, so I'll give you the best answer I can. Unfortunately I can't be definitive. I've never owned a BlackBerry that was not on a BES, so I don't know what the security settings look like for non-BES users. I think that all BlackBerry devices have at least a blank IT Policy, whether they are used on BES or BIS. On BES, the policy just has content. If my thought is correct, then there's really no such thing as removing the policy completely. You just replace one that has undesirable settings with a blank one that does not.
