Here's a slide-lock screen that uses the Earth and orbiting moon as the slider. It does work with trackpad/trackball as well as touch.
To simply unlock, swipe entirely across the display either to the left or right (until the Earth is entirely off the display). You don't actually have to touch the Earth; swipe wherever it's comfortable and convenient, but get Earth completely off the screen to unlock. You can use 2 or 3 motions if necessary, but one full swipe is enough.
If you swipe down, then it won't lock again until you're done with the app you're currently using; but it will not add that app as a permanent exception.
If you swipe up, that opens the settings, where you can click a button to add the current app as a permanent exception -- unless you opt back into locking for that app. You can also select any other apps to add to the exception list.
Although it's a digital clock, the moon orbits once per minute like an a dial clock's second hand. The color-shifting energy drops at the bottom are an easier-to-read battery meter like in the Graphical Menu Clock.

The beta is a test of the free version; it has all the features of the regular version for 3 days, and afterward the user can continue using the non-expiring charging-screen feature ad-free... i.e. for the first 3 days, the app works anytime, but after 3 days it only works when plugged in.
The free version does not require network access, and has no ads.
