App notifications only appear when

I use Blackberry App World and on this I have an Ebay App.

I receive notification icons for both these apps but can never find them. In desperation I contact Ebay Support off the App World page that opened an email to RIM. Once I have sent the message and return to my messages the notifications appear. Once I have closed my messages and return the notification messages disapear but the icons remain.

I have asked RIM a number of times (mainly because I have to open and send a message to them for the notifications to appear in my in box) to ask what I need to do for the messages to appear. I have never received a useful response other than to visit their FAQ.

Would anyone know what needs to change for the notification meassages to appear in my inbox without firstly opening a support message to RIM.
