Default 3G Mobile Hot Stop APP

Certain "Palm" phones have an APP available to turn the phone into a mobile hot stop.

Does the Storm of the technical specs. for a similar APP to be developed?
If Yes, is any APP currently being developed?

"Create a Wi-Fi hotspot wherever you are

Turn your phone into a 3G hotspot for up to five devices.9 The Palm mobile hotspot app provides broadband Internet access for your laptop and lets friends or co-workers connect at the same time. It’s simple to set up and easy to use. And it’s like getting a phone plus a Wi-Fi router all in one."

The Storm 1 does not have Wi-Fi capabilities. You would need a Storm 2 for this.

Just updated my profile. I had to upgrade today to the Storm 2.

An example:
If you have a device which has WI-FI.
You could use your Storm to create the "Hot Spot" to connect that device to.

I believe that the hardware would support it but it is disabled somehow to prevent 3ed party applications from making your BB into a hotspot. Too bad. I'd really love to be able to do this just like Palm and Android can.
