It is NOT from the beta program...I received it just now and am NOT part of the beta program. Best guess is that this follows the normal rollout methodology -- ShopBB devices will start receiving it now, carrier controlled devices will receive it whenever each carrier releases it.

I bought the Priv from ShopBB Europe and received the update 6 hours ago. The update does make the Priv run flawlessly, better than the previous state. The heat issue is still there but a lot better than before.

And I'm NOT from the Beta program. Just got the phone for a week.

I'm new to android with the priv...how do you check for software updates / security updates? Can you search for the updates like you can on bb10 or do they have to just get pushed to your device. I'm trying to get the Dec security update. Thanks

Thanks usman! Another thing I haven't been able to figure out is is there a way to change sound profiles /notifications for the device like on bb10? In particular I like setting my profile to silent and still be able to view toast notifications. However I've noticed that it seems like the only option I have on android is Do Not Disturb, which would be fine sometimes since I use that on bb10 also, but on android when I use that setting, it cuts off the volume when I'm watching videos too which is annoying. Thanks for all your help!

Here in South Africa with an unlocked PRIV (STV100-4), no update yet on Monday December 5, 15:21 GMT+2.

When I got my PRIV on Nov 28, it immediately updated to the Nov 5 security update. I'm curious to see with the Dec 5 update how much lag there is.

It looks like it used to be a carrier stock (CellC bar code on the box), but I bought it new from a reputable seller (takealot.com) as an unlocked, carrier-free phone.

I noticed the heat issue still remain after this update, typing email is laggy in the hub.

Hope they will get it fixed!
