TCL does not own the Alcatel brand but merely licenses it. Know who owns it? Nokia does!

TCL also licenses the BlackBerry brand.

But if TCL uses the Alcatel base to build dteks and any further versions, and if BlackBerry is currently suing Nokia for patent reasons, isn't there some conflict of interest here?

On an aside TCL owns Palm, but just the brand. Not the webOS. So what's the point in that?

It's a weird wonderland we all live in...

The Guide is definitive. Reality is frequently inaccurate.

You made it confusing for yourself.

There will be no conflict of interest. Those cases almost never lead to any real recourse aside from rich companies exchanging money into one another's hands. No one at the top, middle or bottom cares. It's literally nothing more than a 'Let lawyers deal with it' conversation.
