Default Will BES support QNX as is?

I'm trying to decide whether to go with one of the new OS7 phones that just came out or wait till the QNX models arrive next year. My concern is that if I get a QNX device it will not be supported on my company's BES. I don't know what version of BES we use and the email app we use is MS Outlook.

I currently have a Torch 9800 and have switched from a Pearl to a Storm 2 before that. No problems were ever encountered when I called our administrator to set them up.

Does anyone have any idea if changes or upgrades need to be done at the server level to get a QNX device set up for email? I would hate to wait that long and invest money on a QNX device only to find out that it can't be set up properly wihout major changes or an upgrade to our company BES.

thanks

I can't imagine that from the BES's point of view that QNX phones would be an different, it might require a BES upgrade, but I can't imagine RIM making major changes to the Handsey/BES interface.

Yeah, I'm thinking an upgrade at the very minimum which may be problematic for me. I don't think my company is going to acquire any QNX devices until its been around a bit and the bugs get worked out.

Which makes one wonder if that's true for most enterprises will it hurt QNX sales.

From the rumors out there the QNX phones will have a seperate BES server. None of this is fact yet. (First QNX BlackBerry Codenamed Colt, No BES Support? | N4BB - News for BlackBerry - leaks, rumors, videos, faqs, reviews)

I think this isn't a good idea from RIM if it is indeed true. Who wants to support another server. Maybe this article is referring to RIM's server architecture and not the end customers BES servers. Time will tell. I would imagine though that it will require a software update to any BES server regardless.
