Default Upgrading to BES 5.0.2

Hi,

I recently created a new BES VM to replace our old BES 4.2 box. The new implementation is testing ok (when testing routing to Blackberry), and the database has been imported as well. This server is also set as the primary BES.

Unfortunately when I shutdown the old BES messages are not forwarded to Blackberrys. Any idea why this is happening?. I am at a loss to workout how to make the messages forward from the new box??.

Thanks

What you are trying to do is a migration upgrade. Here are the basic steps to follow.
Stop and disable the Blackberry services on the old BES.
Install collaborative Data Object 1.2.1
Install SQL on the new BES
Attach the BESMgmt database from the old server to the new SQL server
run the errors.sql script from the 4.1.2 folder from the Blackberry media
change the hostname to match the new hostname in the serverconfig and mdsconfig tables of the BESMgmt database
Install BES 5.0.2 on the new server

See if you missed any of the above steps.

Contact RIM for support, something a major as migration is not to be taken lightly.
