Default Updating the device.xml and vendor.xml files
Per KB13589, I can install the BB Desktop Manager on my BES and get the updated device and vendor .xml files.

Questions:
Can I just copy the files to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader as instructed and be done with it?

Do those files have to be downloaded to each BB device? If so, how does that occur?

The latest versions of those files can be found online here. And you can just copy them onto the server.

The files are used by the BES server, desktop manager and the apploader. There is no requirement to deploy them to individual devices.
