Default Updates slow to sync from Exchange to devices

Hello everyone,

BES 4.1.7, 2003, Exchange, remote SQL DB, 8703e's, 1 8830, 1 Storm, 8330's...

I noticed that for some time, updates take some time to update on the device when done in Outlook. They usually take 2 to 4 minutes. Now, please, if it has always been this way, educate me. But my memory tells me that it wasn't the case.

Creation of items are instantaneous, if users get new mail, it gets pushed to their device in a timely manner. If users mark a message a read on the device, the status gets synced to the server immediately, but not the other way around. They will get done, but after a few minutes. Mail, contacts, notes, tasks and calendar all behave the same way.

I've checked MAPI32.DLL, CDO.DLL, did all the updates I could find to BES, wiped a device, reactivated, both before and after recreating the user in BES. My device is running the latest software.

I have a colleague in another organisation who noticed the same thing with his server.

Does anybody else have this delay?

Thanks

If you do something on the device with an email then Outlook shows the change in real time. If you do something in Outlook the sync could take up to 15 minutes for the device to check in.

Check Blackberry Manager for pending messages, last contact and last forward time. If all these look ok then the BES is communicating ok with the devices and the problem probably lies between BES and Exchange.
