Default Troubleshooting BlackBerry Monitoring Service non-SNMP connection

I have set up the BMS service on a server to monitor the two BES 5.01 servers in our high availability environment.

The SNMP settings seem fine and I can read a lot of information from each server - but in "BlackBerry Solution Topology > BlackBerry Domain > Servers" the BES001 (Non-SNMP) is grey (BES001 is the name of the primary server on which the BESMgmt database resides).

I cannot seem to figure out why this is, the SNMP polling is obviously working as expected and there are no firewalls between these servers which are restricting access.

I'm guessing there is a config setting somewhere causing trouble but I haven't had any luck with finding it so far so I'm hoping someone here knows what to do
