Default Time To Update IT policy

HI All,

sorry to be one of those clowns that registers and asks for help with their first post. This is the first time iv come across this site!

I wondered if anyone could help me with a headscracher.

The aim is to upgrade from 4.0.6 to 5.0.3, On a clean server and database (multiple reasons)

Procedure followed

- reset users IT policy to default
- Move using Transporter

This works GREAT!

But I have then recreated some IT policys, When applied to the handsets they can take up to 4 hours to apply. The quickest being 20 minutes (even after forced update)

The users still on 4.1.6 BES, if a policy is changed it updates in around a minute.

Both servers are in the same rack! same connection! Just different SRP and Id (60 day temp key)

Im going through the logs but cant find anthing untowards..

Can anyone point me in the right direction as there are 160 handsets to move and the IT policys are quite important as it is in the legal sector?

Cheers

Dan

Hi Bozo,

Haha, JK. I am running BESX on Exchange 2007 and I just updated a policy and it took nearly an hour after manually pushing it out. I have no idea why. Two of the BBs to get the policy are Torches. Once is the latest AT&T offical release and the other is the original Toarch AT&T OS release. Both are on AT&T. Those are the only variables that I can think of. And interestingly I sent it out about 3 times, yet only one update occurred.

I looked at the official BB site and there is no mention of timed delay or speed for updating the IT policy, it just updates when it finds a new one.
