Software Deployment
I am trying to deploy an update of Documents to Go to my 4.6 OS devices in order to support MS Office 2007 and 2010 docs but I am running into some snags. I am currently running BES 5.0.2.
I am able to get it to deploy on the devicesin certain scenarios but not the one I would necessarily want. In our environment, we had previously set the "Disallow Third Party Application Downloads" policy. In order to deploy Software Configurations, that can not be on during the deployment.
Now, I don't necessarily want to set the "Disposition for unlisted applications" to Disallowed as I do not want to micro manage every application that we may allow people to download. (some few people do not have the "Disallow Third Party Application Downloads" policy set.
From what I read in article KB20638 , if I set "Disposition for unlisted applications" to Disallowed and then set "Disallow Third Party Application Downloads", my Documents to Go application will be removed.
HOWEVER, in my tests, I have set "Disposition for unlisted applications" to Optional and allowed Third Party Application Downloads while I deploy the software. The software gets deployed fine and works. But once I set the Third Party Application Downloads back to Disallowed, the Documents to Go application is removed from the device!!!
Anybody have some insight on what I may be doing wrong ?
Much Appreciated.
