Server impact of prepopulation

Hi, we're currently using the default 200 message count for prepopulation on devices using BES 4.1 and thinking of increasing this to 750. Does anyone know what impact this is likely to have on the BES server (downloading headers only)? I have a feeling it won't make much difference but I'd like to know others' experience. Thanks.

I'm just curious, why the prepop at all. As the device is connected to BES the only folder that they would not be able to view is the Deleted folder. As for the strain on the server, as the messages will be queue'd the strain will be relatively low.

Thanks for the reply. We have some users with very large inboxes that they want to see all of, so without pre population they are left with remote search. As I understand it this is limited to returning a max of 100 results even if you do a blank search on a given folder. Unless you know another way of retrieving hundreds of old messages in one go - all solutions welcome.

In the performance bench marking guide on the blackberry.com/btsc site they have done various performance testing with 500-2k users. They have it all broken down. There are also performance calculators which may help.
