Question about BES rules

Hey Everyone,

New to the forums so please bare with me as i could not find any information about this from search (could of been searching the wrong phrase).

I am not the admin to our BES at my work, but I am the main support contact for anything Blackberry related. I am not on our BES with my Blackberry since our company does not pay for my BB and Canadian prices for BES packages are stupid, but almost everyone in my department is. I asked one of them to BBM someone for me and they said they didn't use nor have them on BBM. My mouth just about dropped...

Is there a way to push BBM contacts to say certain groups we assign people to in the BES? As a example:

Groups:
Corporate
IT
Sales
On-Air TV
On-Air Radio
Finance

If A B C users are in group "Corporate", anyone else in that group would be automatically pushed your BBM contact to everyone in that groups BB. If D E F are in IT... you get the point.


Please let me know if there is any settings like this on a BES

This isnt built into the BES as core functionality. You might be better googling to see if there is a 3rd party application that would provide the functionality you want.

That would sweet. All of us in IT used BBM like crazy until state budget cut backs now only the two managers in IT have blackberry along with myself because i am the BES admin which I had to fight to have a blackberry. The rest of the people in our organization use sms no one seems to want or care to use bbm.
