Pushing VZ Nav
Hi All-
I need to deploy VZ Nav to about 30 of our 200 users. We recently upgraded to BES 5 - server is version 5.0.2. Everything is set up pretty basic. I have one software configuration (base software) and two IT policies. Everything is assigned at the group level and the groups are defined by department. The only difference is that some groups (departments) have an IT policy assigned that has a different password requirement. Everything else is the same on the IT policies.
First I tried to create a new software config with VZ Nav as the only app and made it required. I applied that software config to a new group and added a few test users to that group. So those users ended up being in two groups - their department group with the IT policy and base software config and a VZ Nav Users group with the VZ Nav software config. Nothing happened.
Next I tried adding my base software to that software config and renamed it Base + VZ Nav and assigned that config at the user level so that it had a higher precedence than the group assigned software config. Still nothing. If I go into the user attributes and view resolved applications, the base software (Google Maps and Google App) show under resolved. VZ Nav shows up under "other configured applications" in both the required and optional applications list. If I expand to view more info, it shows as being "not supported by device". I got the latest version of the app using the link in the documentation. What's strange is that it shows the application version as 6.x and my BES shows it as 4.1.0 after uploading it. I haven't been able to find a later version. All of our devices are 9630s. Most are running 4.7 yet, but we do have a handful on 5.0.x.
I would love to hear from anyone that has deployed VZ Nav through BES 5. Any input is welcome. Thanks in advance!
