Question IT policy question for the masters of BES?

hey BES Masters.

my company has 2 types of ITs policies that i am aware of.

One - that allows normal email, calender etc sync and NOT Third Part Apps
Two - tthat allows normal email, calender etc sync and ALLOWS Third Part Apps

once in a while when i wanted to update apps i have to call them to put me on "Software Install Policy" and they do that for a few days and some i am assuming the put reminders for them selves to switch me back a few days later.

Is it some how possible to say the "software install policy" on the computer and load it my self without having to call them every time??

i dont know if the IT can be loaded by me somehow?

please help

cheers

I can think of more than one answer to that question, you can make a copy of the "Allow" policy, and install it to the device when you need to, but at any moment the BES can overwrite it, so its not a permanent or easy fix.

Your BES admin can automate the process if they want, not easy to do from what I understand, but they can make it that you maybe go to a website, click a button to request the right, if they approve it you are automatically assigned the new policy and at a later stage again moved back to the old policy. Requires a bit of custom development, but its possible to make the process easier for everyone.
